Objectives
This course will provide the delegate with a basic understanding of the techniques and knowledge required to apply pneumatics safely and effectively in the workplace, and the skills to:1. Explain how air is compressed, stored and distributed.
2. Identify major pieces of equipment used in the application of pneumatics.
3. Explain the types and construction of - cylinders
- directional control valves
- filters
- lubricators
- flow control valves
4. Control double acting and single acting cylinders.
5. Use speed controls on a circuit.
6. Employ sequential control of 2 or more cylinders.
7. Modify circuits from verbal and written instructions.
8. Identify faults on pneumatic circuits.
Requirements
Previous engineering knowledge / skills would be an advantage but is not essential.Notes
Training will be carried out by specialist staff through lectures, demonstrations, individual coaching and practical experience in a workshop environment.A sandwich lunch will be provided.
