Objectives

This course is designed to provide delegates with an understanding of the skills and techniques required to carry out workplace assessment of candidates against national vocational standards. Successful completion of the course and a portfolio of workplace evidence, will lead to the Level 3 Award in Assessing Competence in the Work Environment.
The course will enable delegates to build the knowledge and skills necessary to:

1. State the principles and requirements of assessment.
2, Determine different types of assessment.
3. State how to plan assessment.
4. Determine how to involve learners and others in assessment.
5. Explain how assessment decisions are made.
6. State the quality assurance required in the assessment process.
7. Describe how to manage information related too assessment.
8. Describe the legal and good practice requirements in relation to assessment.
9. Plan the assessment of occupational competence.
10. Demonstrate the ability to make decisions about occupational competence.
11. Provide required information following the assessment of occupational competence.
12. Maintain legal and good practice requirements when assessing occupational competence.

Requirements

Delegates will be required to carry out a series of assessments in the workplace, and submit a portfolio of evidence based on this in order to complete the award.

PLEASE ALSO NOTE THAT IN THE EVENT OF ANY DELEGATES NOT TURNING UP ON THE DAY, UNLESS WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED PRIOR TO THIS, YOU MAY BE CHARGED 30% OF THE COURSE FEES FOR COSTS INCURRED

Notes

Option 1: £1450
The above price includes all course materials, registration with awarding body and certification for the initial 2 days training. A further 2 days attendance is required for assessment gathering and portfolio building. (This option is only available to qualified engineers)
Option 2: £800 (plus agreed assessment visit costs)
In addition to the initial 2 days training. A minimum of 2-4 assessment and portfolio building visits will be required. These will be charged at £160 per visit and the final verification fee of £160 will be charged on completion.

EKGTA can also provide a support service to delegates providing guidance and assistance in developing the portfolio prior to submission. The cost of this service will be discussed and agreed with delegate/employer prior to commencement.
