The company continues to grow following the takeover of Sutherland Engineers Ltd; making CAE one of the first pump distributors in Scotland to own and operate their own pipework and vessel fabricator and installation. More recently, Clyde Associated Engineers launched a new division of the company, bringing in a team of highly experienced systems and calibration engineers. The product range has developed over the years and the increased knowledge and experience gained has ensured that the company provides expert technical advice and a trustworthy support service to the customer for all fluid handling requirements. Based at manufacturing facilities in Clydebank, CAE is UKCA accredited to execution Class 2 (EXC2) for the manufacturing of steelwork and offer clients a full project management service & the ability to design, specify, supply and install any kind of fluid handling system. Clyde Associated Engineers have successfully completed major projects for customers in the Whisky, Mining, Power Generation, Pharmaceutical, Petrochemical, Oil & Gas and Food industries.

Clyde Associated Engineers are committed to the training and development of a young Mechanical Maintenance Engineers and a Fabrication and Welding Engineers through the Modern Apprenticeship program in conjunction with our training provider East Kilbride Group Training Association and this year we are looking for three individuals to join our team in August 2024 . These positions are for a full Modern Apprenticeship program resulting in the attainment of an SVQ Level 2, SVQ Level 3 and an Academic qualification, with the opportunity for further education in HNC. On completion of the program, successful candidates will achieve fully qualified Engineering status.

Apprentice Criteria

The successful applicant would be expected to hold National 5 grade passes at level C or above in Math’s, English, a Science and a Technical subject, Higher grades would be an advantage. All applicants should be enthusiastic and have a genuine interest in achieving an Apprenticeship with Clyde Associated Engineers

Viridor are looking to recruit a Mechanical Maintenance Engineering Apprentice and an Electrical Engineering Maintenance Apprentice for their Glasgow Recycling & Renewable Energy Centre and Dunbar Energy Recovery Facility. As an engineering apprentice you will be expected to be adaptable to learning new skills and processes and play an active role in ensuring the safe running of the plant.

Our apprentices need to be interested and passionate about manufacturing engineering. So, you should be a motivated individual, also curious about how things are made and put together through the use of technical drawings. Numeracy is important, and you should be a team player. You’ll have to learn fast and have the discipline to balance studying for a qualification with the demands of your role. You’ll need a minimum three National 5 Grades (or equivalent) in Math's and English Language, plus either Engineering, Design & Technology or Science (excluding Biology), all at grade C or above (obtained or predicted).
