SVQ Plant Operations - SVQ Level 2

Objectives

This VQ has been designed to enable the participant to demonstrate competence in the following areas:

· Contributes to an effective & efficient work environment
· Contributes to health & safety in the workplace
· Operating a forklift truck
· Lift transfer and position loads

Content: The candidate will cover the following elements:

· Contribute to efficiency in the workplace
· Develop and maintain effective working relationships
· Organise own work and maintain standards
· Operate safely in the workplace
· Assist in security in the workplace
· Prepare and set-up the lift truck and equipment
· Operate the lift truck and equipment to meet work requirements
· Shut down and secure the lift truck and equipment
· Prepare for the movement of the load
· Lift and transfer the load to it’s new position
· Position and set-down the load

Requirements

This VQ is intended for experienced operators and newly qualified operators as a means of further development of their skills assessed against national industrial standards.

Notes

VQs are conducted at the candidate’s pace and assessed in the workplace.

Certification is based on the assessment of work based evidence conducted by qualified assessors
