Notes
Scottish Vocational Qualifications (SVQs) recognise what a person is able to do at work, looking at the skills and knowledge needed to do the job, as well as the individual's ability to organise work, identify problems and so on.
They are based on industry standards which must be met to be competent in a task, and can be completed either in a training environment, or in the workplace,at higher levels. Each qualification has a series of levels, depending on the role.
A Level 3 qualification is ideal for employees in technician, craft, supervisory and skilled roles.
