Objectives
The delegate will take part in a training programme which provides the knowledge and skills required to be able to understand the basic principles and methods of working with electricity. The training will enable the person to:
1. Be aware of relevant Health & Safety Practice.
2. Understand single-phase and 3 phase electrical distribution systems.
3. Wire up simple circuits.
4. Use electrical test instruments, e.g.
- Digital multi meter
- Insulation tester
- Clamp on ammeter
5. Fault find on simple circuits
6. Apply safe working practices (including Electricity at Work Regulations).
Requirements
No previous electrical experience is necessary.
Notes
This course would be suitable for mechanical maintenance staff and other non-electrical craftsmen and technicians, who wish to develop basic knowledge and skills in the electrical aspects of their job.
A sandwich lunch will be provided.
