Objectives

This course is designed for staff involved in the inspection process who require to use Coordinated Measuring Machines.

By the end of this course the delegate will be able to:
1. Use a CMM effectively and efficiently.
2. Change probes and set new probes.
3. Programme and measure components using the probe head and a camera attachment for none contact inspection.
4. Programme for multiple part inspection.
5. Produce detailed inspection reports, charts and graphs.
6. Produce drawings with sizes of the measured parts.
7. Take jpeg photos for inspection purposes.
8. Inport/Export DXF drawing files with the CMM.

Requirements

Delegates would benefit from an engineering background and inspection techniques. Computer or CNC literacy would be an advantage.

Notes

This course can be used as the introduction to a SVQ Level 2 unit of credit for Engineering Technical Support qualifications.

This course uses an Aberlink Axiom machine with dedicated software.
