Programmable Logic Controllers

Objectives

The delegate will take part in a training programme which provides the knowledge and skills required to be able to understand the basic principles for working with programmable logic controllers. The training will enable the person to:


1. Read simple relay ladder logic diagrams

2. Enter and run simple ladder logic programs

3. Program branch instructions

4. Construct truth tables for different logic functions

5 Produce a ladder logic program from a truth table.

6. Program and use LATCH and UNLATCH instructions

7. Program and use master control relays

8. Create zones with MCR and ZCL instructions

9. Program RTO and RTF timers

Requirements

No previous electrical or PLC knowledge or experience is required.

Notes

This course is suitable for maintenance or operational personnel as an introductory course in PLCs.
