Objectives
This course is designed for staff who may be involved in meetings within their job role.
The course will aim to give delegates the confidence to prepare and run a meeting, from setting the agenda to following up on minutes.
Exact content and duration will be agreed prior to commencement of the course.
The course will enable to delegate to build the knowledge and skills to:
1. Decide whether a meeting is necessary at all.
2. Set the agenda and plan the timing of the meeting
3. Control the pace of the meeting once it is in progress
4. Enhance their listening skills
5. Improve their verbal communication skills
6. Be involved and participate without running the meeting
7. Control the meeting if acting as Chairperson.
8. Prepare for the meeting
9. Post meeting communications and actions
10. Follow up actions
Requirements
Delegates will be required to actively participate in practice sessions designed to enhance their skills and understanding.
Notes
All training will be carried out by specialist staff through individual coaching, lectures, and practical exercises.
This course requires a minimum of 3 candidates to run.
A reduced rate may apply if a group booking is made.
A sandwich lunch will be provided.
