Pallet Truck Operator

Objectives

This course has been designed to enable the participant to:

1. Operate a truck safely and efficiently
2. Demonstrate extensive knowledge of the truck and it's limits

During the course participants will learn about:

Session 1: Safe truck operation
Truck design and stability
Materials handling and packaging
Industrial safety and dangerous goods
Session 2: Basic Operation in simulated working conditions
Lifting, carrying and setting down pallets
Daily inspection, battery care/refuelling

Requirements

1. The course fully meets the required standards of the Construction Industry Training Board
2. Session 1 ends with a theoretical safe working knowledge examination. Session 2 ends
with a practical operating test
3. Operating license and course certificates will only be awarded to successful candidates

Notes

This course is intended for the person with little or no previous operation experience.
Courses will be delivered in 2 x half day sessions. Session 1 "The Theory of Safe Operation" will be limited to 9 participants. Session 2 "Practical Operation" will be limited to a maximum of 3 participants.
