Objectives
This course has been designed to enable the participant to:
1. Operate a fork lift truck safely and efficiently
2. Demonstrate extensive knowledge of the fork lift truck and it's limits
3. Conduct load and environmental assessments
During the course participants will learn about:
Operating fork lift trucks in simulated working conditions
How to carry out daily inspections
Fork lift truck design and stability
Operating the truck safely
Stacking and racking systems
Materials handling and packing
Industrial safety
Working with dangerous goods
SVQ: Lift Truck Operation Level 2 is also available to successful
candidates

Requirements
The course will finish with a practical operating test and a theoretical safe working knowledge examination. The operating license and course certificate will only be awarded to delegates who are successful in both of these elements.

Courses are conducted on the clients premises using client assets.
This course is designed for experienced fork lift operators who have had little or no formal training. Courses will be limited to a maximum of 3 participants.
This course fully meets the requirements of the 1989 Approved Code of Practice - Rider Operated Lift Truck Operator training and is led by qualified instructors registered with the Road Transport Industry Training Board.
This course can lead to a SVQ Level 2 in Plant operations. Please see separate course outline.
