Objectives
The course will enable the delegate to build the knowledge and skills to:
1. Demonstrate an understanding of the main section of the Health & Safety At Work etc Act 1974.
2. Explain the duties of the employer under the HASAW Act.
3. Explain the role to be played by the employee under the HASAW Act.
4. Identify key legislative requirements under the Management of Health & Safety at Work
Regulations (1992/1999)
5. Understand the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1992/98. (PUWER)
6. Identify responsibilities under the Manual Handling Operations Regulations 1992.
7. Comply with Workplace (Health & Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992
8. Identify relevant sections within Personal Protective Equipment Regulations 1992.
9. Explain basic principles of Noise At Work Regulations 1996.
10. Understand and comply with permit to work systems.
11. Understand and use basic systems of risk assessment
12. Record and document records relating to risk assessment.
Requirements
This course is designed for all levels of staff, and can be delivered to suit specific needs of groups within the organisation, depending on which legislation affects them. The course will provide an over view and basic understanding of the legislation affecting, and requirement on individuals to comply with, organisational health & safety practice.
Notes
Training will be carried out by a qualified instructor using a combination of demonstrations, lectures and practical experience.
This course leads to the BSC Level 1 Health & Safety
A sandwich lunch will be provided.
