Manual Handling Techniques

Objectives

This course is designed for staff who will be exposed to the risks from lifting, moving or handling objects, substances or materials whether in the office, workshop or other occupational locational.

The course meets the expectations of the Health & Safety Executive in terms of proper instruction of staff in lifting techniques.

The course will enable the to delegate to build the knowledge and skills to:

1. Show an understanding and appreciation of current legislation with regards to manual
handling

2. Understand basic methods of accident prevention

3. Evaluate objects to be lifted

4. Understand correct lifting techniques to minimise the risk of injury

5. Demonstrate correct lifting techniques

6. Be able to carry out risk assessment in relation to manual handling

Requirements

Delegates should wear loose fitting comfortable clothing.

Notes

All delegates will be issued with a personalised certificate of attendance in line with legislative requirements.
